Delicious and easy recipe for French apple pie

Autumn is here and apple harvesting is in full swing. What could be more fun than baking your own pie from apples you picked yourself? You can make the most delicious French apple pie yourself. Here is a simple recipe for a delicious French apple pie especially for you.

Ingredients:

- 1 puff pastry base (ready-made or homemade)
- 5-6 apples, peeled, cut into wedges
- 100 g sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 50 g butter, melted
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 190°C.
2. Place the puff pastry base in a round pie pan. Prick holes in the base with a fork.
3. Mix the apple slices, sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice in a bowl until the apples are well coated.
4. Arrange the apple mixture neatly over the puff pastry base.
5. Pour the melted butter over the apples.
6. Bake the pie in the oven for 30-35 minutes until the apples are soft and the pastry is golden brown.
7. Remove the cake from the oven and brush the top with the beaten egg.
8. Return the cake to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the top is nicely shiny.
9. Let the cake cool and serve at room temperature.

Tip: Serve with vanilla sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
